Emma Sheldon, LCMHC, CISP
Hello!
My name is Emma Sheldon and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of Vermont. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Keene State College in 2008, and a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2019. I am also a Certified Integrative Somatic Practitioner and completed my training through the Integrative Wellness Academy in 2023. I believe in the importance of continuing my professional journey which includes engaging in continued opportunities to expand my knowledge with holistic integrative approaches towards healing (see client focus page for specialties).
My Personal Journey Continues - Just as Yours Does
I regularly engage in opportunities to continue on the path of my personal journey of growth and expansion. Some of the healing methods I have found to be personally transformative for me include Internal Family Systems, energy work, spiritual exploration, somatic experiencing, sound healing, singing and dance. These methods have allowed me to gain a better understanding of who I am, and to learn more about ways in which I can contribute to the collective healing of all beings. I believe that this continued process allows me to be present and empathetic to those with whom I work and those who I encounter in my daily life.
A significant value of mine is a work-life balance and on my off time I can be found spending time with my family, my friends, connecting with nature, drumming, dancing, singing, and exploring deeper truths through spiritual practices.
My Holistic Perspective
My work as a therapist incorporates a Trauma-Informed Holistic perspective in all that I do. I also incorporate this concept in my personal life to facilitate a relationship of balance between the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social aspects of my being. My goal is to provide a safe space for others to get to know themselves on a more intimate level, and to witness them embarking on a journey towards authentic change and transformation.
