Integrated Roots Therapy LLC
Somatic Journey & Integration Workshop
‘Soma’ is a Greek word for body, or the living body known from within. Somatic therapy is an experiential approach towards mind-body integration. Traumatic experiences can take us away from feeling at home in our body, and as a result there is often a split within ourselves.
Somatic Therapy helps to:
Restore the body as a place of safety while helping to expand the capacity to process traumatic memory held in the body (non-verbal and pre-verbal).
-Metabolize unprocessed emotions
-Complete uncompleted stress responses
-Restore our optimal relationship to our self and the world around us
What: This experiential Somatic workshop will explore the concepts of Somatic Psychology through movement and various therapeutic practices. Practices will include guided meditation, guided imagery, dance/movement, face painting, journaling, breath work, energy work, group sharing and witnessing.
